Two Jailed for Aggravated Assault

Friends took the young man to the emergency room at Macon County General Hospital where he was treated and released. “Later on that morning he was taken to Skyline Hospital where he was treated for a concussion and bleeding on the brain,” said the detective. “He has since been released.”

An investigation was conducted and charges were filed on Barrett and Wilson. “Anthony Barrett was picked up on Wednesday, August 14th and Joshua Wilson was picked up on Thursday, August 15,” added Detective Tillman. “They were picked up on those warrants in the courtroom.”

Joshua Wilson was also charged by LPD Officer Pat Looper for aggravated assault by strangulation, which occurred at 901 Freeman Street, in Lafayette, also on August 11.

Mr. Anthony Barrett, of Bradley Hollow Road, was charged with aggravated assault and his bond is set at $10,000. He is to appear in General Sessions Court on Wednesday, September 25.

Mr. Joshua Wilson, of Kelly Lane, was charged with aggravated assault (2 cts.) and contempt of court and violation of probation. His bond is set at $21,000 and he is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Wednesday, September 25.
