Hilda Greanead Clark Smith, 89

Hilda Greanead Clark Smith, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Funeral services for Hilda Smith were conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Wayne Meador officiating.  Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Family and friends served as her pallbearers.  Born on December 12, 1924 in Macon County, Tennessee, she was one of three children born to the late Edgar Mitchel and Cammie (Halliburton) Greanead. She was married to Leamon Clark and to this union a son was born.  After Leamon’s death, she later married Willard Smith and welcomed three step-daughters to her family.   She had worked as a hairdresser in Madison, TN, and was a member of Drapers Cross Roads Church of Christ. In addition to both husbands and her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Kirby; sister-in-law, Margel Clark; a granddaughter, Carrie Clark; and a grandson, Bryan Mitchell Clark.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Joann Clark of Mt. Juliet; sister and brother-in-law, Claudine and Vernon Capshaw of Jasper, TN; step-daughters and spouses, Cheryl Shoulders, Janet and Kenny Evetts, Bobbye Nell and Wendle Brawner, all of Lafayette; granddaughter and her husband, Christie and Keith Capley; 2 great- granddaughters, Keeley Capley and Reese Capley, all of Mt. Juliet; nephews and their spouses, Phillip Darrell and Janice Clark, David and Angie Capshaw, Greg Clark and  Johnny and Teresa Clark; nieces and their spouses, Melody Capshaw, Sharon and Forrest Melton; 7 step-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren.
