Jimmy Lee Wheeley, 66
Jimmy Lee Wheeley was born on December 6, 1947 to the late Calvin Leslie Wheeley and Willie Dallas Russell Wheeley. He was one of two sons born to this union. Jimmy devoted his life to the world of Education. He was a graduate of MTSU with a Masters+45. He retired from Macon County Board of Education on June 30, 2014. Jimmy was a member of the Tennessee Education Association and Macon County Education Association. Jimmy was also a member of the Macon County Sports Hall of Fame and Chairman for a time. He married the love of his life the former Doris Devonna Keene in 1968 sharing forty-five years together and two sons, Jeff and Jason. Jimmy leaves many memories behind through his time as teacher, principle and Superintendent. Students and Faculty had a great respect for him and always spoke highly of him. Macon County has suffered a great loss. Through all of his accomplishments the greatest of all was the love to his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Jimmy was a member and Deacon of Testament Primitive Baptist Church. On July 4th, 2014, at the age of 66, the Lord called Jimmy home. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all his many friends. Funeral services for Jimmy Wheeley will be conducted on Monday, July 7, at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Dwight Dyer and Elder G. W. Knight officiating. Danny Russell, Mikey Russell, Ferrell Meador, John Wheeley, Randy Keene, and Gary Keene served as Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Jimmy is survived by; Wife, Doris Keene Wheeley of Lafayette, Sons, Jeff (Tonya) Wheeley of Lafayette, Jason (Rachel) Wheeley of Riddleton, Grandchildren, Taylor Spivey and Aaron, Andrew, Matthew, and Sydney Wheeley, Brother, Randy (Wanda) Wheeley, Brothers-in-law, Gary (Kathy) Keene, and Randy (Pam) Keene, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
