Macon Criminal Court Results

On Thursday, October 16, 2014, 39-year-old Ewing David McMurtry was arrested after officers of the Macon County Sheriffs Office recovered over $10,000 in stolen property in McMurtry’s vehicle and at a second storage location. Sheriff Gammons stated that his office had been investigating numerous thefts across the county for several months and Mr. McMurtry was established as a suspect. He faced numerous charges and he pled in the courtroom of Judge Wootten to one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft ($1,000-$10,000). He received a 10 year suspended sentence, with one year already served, plus restitution to numerous victims.

Candy Dawn Abston – driving while license revoked, financial responsibility, driver to exercise due care. Case dismissed.

Logan Arms – meth mfg/del/sale, poss. with intent. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Jeffrey A. Baker – DUI (4th), driving while license revoked, parking on highway, registration expired, financial responsibility law. Trial set for March 30, 2016.

William Alexander Beasley IV – assault with bodily injury, theft up to $500, aggravated burglary, theft of property ($500-$1,000), assault with physical contact, theft of property ($1,000-$10,000), vandalism. Case continued until February 5, 2016.

Glen Edward Berry – speeding, registration expired, financial responsibility, Registration certificate must be carried, driving while license suspended, unlawful use of driver’s license, seat belt law. Case continued until January 26, 2016.

John T. Biggs – probation violation. Case continued until November 30, 2015.

Travis Bisker – probation violation. Probation revoked, two year sentence to be served.

David Lee Black – aggravated assault. Case continued until January 25, 2016, with attorney.

Britney Kaye Bohanan – driving while license revoked, seat belt law, display of registration plates, financial responsibility law, unlawful vehicle on highway, aggravated child abuse, initiate manufacture of methamphetamine. She pled to aggravated child abuse, 8 years and under, and received a 10 year suspended sentence, with one year to serve.

Benjamin Allan Bolte – assault with bodily injury, evading arrest, driving while license revoked. Case continued until February 12, 2016.

Valerie Lynn Carter – probation violation. Appointed a public defender, case continued until November 30, 2015.

Kaleb N. Cross – speeding, driving on wrong side of road, vehicles stop at all stop signs, reckless endangerment, muffler law, evading arrest flight vehicle, reckless driving, driving while license suspended. Case continued until January 25, 2016. Settle or set.  

Dakota Scott Daughtery – burglary, criminal trespass, vandalism up to $500, theft up to $500. Case continued until February 5, 2016.

Joshua L. Davis – probation violation. Case continued until November 30, 2015.

Brock Alan Driver – probation violation. Case continued until November 30, 2015.

Kristopher Dutton – criminal trespass. Continued until November 30, 2015.

Joshua H. Ferguson – driving while license suspended, financial responsibility. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Ricky Lee Gammons – DUI (2nd), financial responsibility, registration certificate must be carried, driver to exercise due care. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Scotty Wayne Gass – theft of property ($1,000-$10,000), DUI (1st offense). Case continued until November 30, 2015, with attorney.

James W. Green – false reports to officer, allowing unlicensed driver to drive, failure to dim lights, financial responsibility, driver to exercise due care. Case continued until January 25, 2016, with attorney.

Christopher S. Gregory – schedule II drugs mfg/del/sell/poss, possession of weapon-convicted felon, possession of drug parahernalia, criminal simulation. Case continued to February 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

George Marshall Hale II – probation violation. Case continued until November 30, 2015, appointed public defender.

Ashley Amanda Hall – obatin drugs by fraud, schedule III drugs mfg/del/sell/poss. Case continued until November 30, 2105.

William Scott Hartnagel – probation violation. Case continued until November 30, 2015, appointed public defender.

Brandon Edward Johns – DUI (1st), schedule III drugs  mfg/del/sell/poss. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Matthew Linn Jones – probation violation. Probation revoked, to serve 3 year sentence.

Courtney Beth Mabry – theft up to $500, evading arrest, meth mfg/del/sell/poss, schedule IV drugs mfg/del/sell/poss., schedule VI drugs, possession without prescription, possession unlawful drug paraphernalia. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

David B. Maddox – driving while license revoked. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Jose Luis Marquez – habitual traffic offender. Case continued until March 28, 2016.

Jonathan Matthew Pace – speeding, driving while license revoked, possession without prescription, prohibited weapons, violatin of order of protection, theft of property ($500-$1,000). Case continued until November 30, 2015.

Duwayne E. Perdue – schedule II drugs mfg/del/sell/poss, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, prohibited weapons, vehicles stop at all stop signs, driving while license suspenced, financial responsibility law, possession of weapon (convicted felon), evading arrest. Case continued until  February 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Melanie Peterson – driving while license suspended, speeding, financial responsibility law, simple possession. Case continued until January 25, 2016 with attorney.

Paul Lee Ramsey, Jr. – theft of property ($1,000-$10,000). Case continued until January 25, 2016, appointed public defender.

Rachel Elizabeth Ray – failure to appear on citation, driving while license revoked, financial reponsibility. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Richard D. Shultz Jr., – rape of child. Pled to attempted aggravated sexual battery. Received a 6 year suspended sentence, one year to serve, placed on sexual offender registry and community supervision for life. 

Chelsea Smith – vehicles stop at all stop signs, simple possession (meth), possession unlawful drug paraphernalia, theft up to $500, theft of property ($1,000-$10,000), schedule II drugs mfg/del/sell/poss, public intoxication, contra in penal facility. Case continued until February 12, 2016.

Jackie E. Smith – rape of child, incest. Case continued until January 25, 2016.

Tony Smith – speeding, reckless driving, obedience to required traffic control devices, evading arrest, schedule II drugs mfg/del/sell/poss, reckless endangerment, driving while license revoked, assault (threat of bodily injury), drivers to exercise due care, vandalism ($500-$1,000), leaving scene of an accident, immediate notice of accident. Case continued untll February 12, 2016.
