Thelma Huffines Franklin

Thelma Huffines Franklin was born on June 27, 1933, in Gainsboro, Tennessee, to the late Hazel Huffines and Lena Draper Huffines. She was one of eight children born to this union. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, JB Franklin; son, Paul Anthony Franklin; sisters, Zelema Draper, and Robbie Gregory; brothers, Vernon Huffines, Bernon Huffines, and Ralph Huffines. She married JB Franklin on December 24, 1955 and they were blessed with fourty-eight years together until his passing on June 5, 2003. Thelma was a caretaker. She was always taking care of someone in any way that she could. Her life goal was to spread love to everyone. Thelma very much enjoyed quilting. She hand stitched some of the most beautiful quilts. She loved farming and being outdoors. On Friday February 12, 2021, at the age of eighty-seven, Thelma Huffines Franklin was called to her heavenly home. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all that knew and loved her. She is survived by; daughter, Shelia Franklin-Dean and husband, JD; sister, Merlene Mosley; brother, Don Huffines; grandchildren, John Paul Winfree, Joshua Winfree; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Winfree and companion, Tyler, Madelyne Winfree, and Jaxon Winfree. Funeral services for Thelma were conducted on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Danny Sellars officiating.
