Betty Jo Leath

Betty Jo Harp Leath was born into this world on June 7, 1947, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Lucille Huffine Harp. She departed this life for her Heavenly Home early Tuesday morning, November 8, 2022, at the age seventy-five years, five months, and one day.

On June 28, 1965, Betty married the love of her life and best friend, Harold Andrew Leath. They were blessed with one son and almost fifty-six years together, before Harold’s passing on January 25, 2021.

Along with her parents and dear husband, Betty was also preceded in death by her Brothers, Danny Harp and Jimmy Harp; Daughter-in-law, Pam Leath; Brother-in-law, Ronnie Leath; Sister-in-law, Carol Clark; Brother-in-law, Edward Sircy; and Father and Mother-in-law, Andrew and Ola Leath.

Betty retired from Flex Technologies here in Lafayette, but she also worked alongside her husband farming and at the greenhouse. After Harold passed, Betty went to work part-time at Dollar General as a cashier.

Betty left a testimony of sweet salvation and was a member of Eulia General Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family. Betty also loved her immediate and extended family, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandsons. Betty’s presence and her sweet smile will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ms. Betty Jo Harp Leath is survived by; Son, Ricky Leath;
Brother, Tim Harp and wife, Dana; Sister, Jean Sircy; Granddaughter, Chelsea Workman and husband, Curtis; Great- Grandchildren, Greyson Workman and Brextyn Workman; Brothers-in-law,
Teddy Leath and wife, Kathy, and Judson Clark. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Betty Jo Harp Leath were conducted on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Todd O’Hair officiating. Interment followed in The Eulia Cemetery. Pallbearers were; Curtis Workman, Justin Harp, Michael Sircy, Gary Leath, Jason Clark, and Michael Clark.
