E.H. Jones

Mr. E. H. Jones was born into this World on February 20, 1932, in Trousdale County, Tennessee to the late Etter Jewell Jones. He departed this life on Saturday, December 3, 2022, and was carried by the angels to his Heavenly Reward, at the age of ninety years, nine months, and thirteen days.

E. H. was raised in Lafayette and graduated from Macon County High School in the class of 1952. He then went to serve his country and joined the United States Army on November 18, 1952. E. H. was honorably discharged on June 20, 1953.

After his military service, E. H. attended Draughn’s Business College in Nashville, where he received his degree in accounting. E. H. came back home to Lafayette and went to work at Cothron’s Chevrolet. He received two Awards while working there. A Certificate of Excellence plaque and a Trophy for twenty-five years of Outstanding Service.

The Greatest thing that ever happened to E.H. was when the Lord reached down and touched him and saved his soul. He was baptized on November 11, 1990. On September 28, 1997, E. H. was ordained as a Deacon into the Mt. Union Association of General Baptists. He was a good and faithful servant to his church. E. H. loved his church family very much. He loved to read the bible, go to church, and attend different revivals in the area. His presence at Pleasant Hill will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Mr. E. H. Jones were conducted on Monday, December 5, 2022, from The Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church. Interment followed in The Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were; Jeff Gregory Tobias Green, Barry Walrond, Kenny Sullivan, Mike Hackett, and Scotty Cox. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements.
