Ricky Lee Wilson was born into this world on April 29, 1962, in Gary, Indiana, to Larry Rae Wilson and Nancy Lynn Wineland. He was one of four children born to this union. His wife, Melba Karen Jenkins Wilson was born into this world on September 25, 1964 in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Robert Lee Jenkins and Ethel Levena Quillen Jenkins. She was also one of four children.
Ricky was a 1980 graduate of Gamaliel High School and after high school, he attended Lindsey Wilson College where he received his Associates Degree. Melba was a 1983 graduate of Macon County High School. They married on July 28,1984 and were blessed with thirty-eight years together.
Ricky and Melba were preceded in death by their grandson, Huxley Daniel Wilson, and Melba’s sister, Linda Lucas and husband, Ron. They were saved by the sweet lord’s grace and were members at Millers Chapel General Baptist Church. Ricky worked at ABC Technologies in Gallatin in Quality Audit. Melba was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and Ricky enjoyed wildlife art, woodcarving, and fishing. He was a very talented artist. Ricky and Melba both enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and other family.
On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of sixty years, seven months, and twelve days, Ricky Lee Wilson was carried by the angels to his heavenly home. On Sunday, December 11, 2022, less than twenty-four hours apart, at the age of fifty-eight years, two months, and seventeen days Melba Karen Jenkins Wilson joined him in Heaven. They will now be together forever. Ricky and Melba will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved them, but our loss is truly heavens gain.
Ricky Lee and Melba Karen Jenkins Wilson is survived by; Son, Derrick Wilson and wife, Samantha; Grandchildren, Troux Lee Wilson, Xylee May Wilson, and Maddison Sullivan; Ricky’s Family, Father, Larry Rae Wilson and wife, Yolanda; Mother, Nancy Lynn Wineland; Sisters, Shonda Covington and husband, Scott, Rhonda Hannah Wilson, and Lisa James. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. Melba’s Family, Brothers, Bobby Jenkins and wife, Patricia, Malcolm Jenkins; Special Nephew, Robert Lucas and wife, Nicole; and Great Nieces, Alicia Lucas and Olivia Lucas.
Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Lee and Melba Karen Jenkins Wilson were conducted on Friday, December 16, 2022, from The Millers Chapel General Baptist Church with Reverend Joe West officiating. Interment followed in The Millers Chapel Cemetery. Ricky’s Pallbearers were; Jerry Wilson, Terry Wilson, Doyle Wilson, George Wilson, Harold Wilson, and Rex Wilson.
