Hazel Athelene Cook West was born on March 7, 1933, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Witt Cook and Virgie Caruthers Cook. Along with her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jon Bellar.

She worked at Texas Boot in Hartsville and was a member of East Main Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville. Hazel enjoyed her flowers and garden. She loved to watch game shows. Hazel loved her family with all her heart and soul. On January 31, 2023, at the age of eighty-nine years, ten months, and twenty-four days, Hazel Athelene West was called to her Heavenly Home. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Hazel West is survived by; Daughters, Mary Lynn Driver and husband, Tim, Linda Bellar and husband, Rick, and Margaret Thacker and husband, Joe; Grandchildren, Dr. Karlee Grace and husband, Kyle, Trey Bellar and wife, Sarah, Brad Cunningham, Brian Cunningham and wife, Crystal, and Joseph Allen Thacker IV “T.J”; Special Friend, Junior Bartley; and Eight Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great-Grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services and interment for Ms. Hazel Athelene Cook West were conducted on Friday, February 3, 2023, from The Underwood Cemetery with Jimmy Claiborne officiating. Pallbearers were; Trey Bellar, Brad Cunningham, Brian Cunningham, Larry West, Mike West, Kyle Grace, and Karlee Grace.
