Clyde Driver


Clyde J. Driver, better known as Pete, was born on February 14, 1926, in Lafayette, Tennessee,
to the late Clyde E. Driver and Ida Payne Driver.

He was one of ten children born to this union. Along with his parents, Pete was also preceded in death by his Sons, Jerry Wayne Driver and Terry “JackHammer” Driver; Grandson, Randy Baker; Brothers, Jesse Driver, Buster Driver, R. H. Driver, Cordell Driver, Odell Driver, and J. R. Driver; and Sisters, Vernalene Boston, Christine Haley, and Anna Pearl Green.

Pete served his country in The United States Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged in December of 1945. Pete was a self-employed farmer and brick mason. He was a member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. He loved spending time on the farm, attending church, and spending time with family. On Friday, March 24, 2023, at the age of ninety-seven years, one month, and ten days, Clyde “Pete” Driver was carried by the angels to his Heavenly Reward. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Pete Driver is survived by; Daughter, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Charles; Daughters-in-law, Donna Driver and Cindy Driver; Grandchildren, Rhonda Graves, Joni Williams and husband, Timmy, Brandy Hewitt and husband, Danny, Nicholas Jones and wife, Heidi, and Nathan Driver. Twenty-two Great-Grandchildren and Seventeen Great-Great-Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Clyde “Pete” Driver were conducted on Monday, March 27, 2023, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Don Curtis officiating.
