Lafayette City Mayor Tony Day is excited to announce that a free community July 4th Fireworks Event has been planned for this coming Friday night, and along with a marvelous firework display provided by Dale Hix, this evening will also be offering food that can be purchased from several different kinds of mobile vendors, live music to enjoy while fellowshipping around the pond, and even the little fellers will have an opportunity to run out some of their energy on the inflatable bounce house and water slide, while waiting for the fireworks show to begin.

“We celebrate July 4th in honor of the men and women who dedicate their lives for all of the freedoms that we have in this great country,” Mayor Tony Day said. “Beginning around 5 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, all are invited to Nature Trail Way at the Winding Stairs Park for this enjoyable July 4th celebration.”

“The last year that fireworks were shot at the Winding Stairs Pond, we didn’t have paved roads, but this year we do, and people can park along the side of the road and also use parking spaces at the Administration Building,” Mayor Tony Day said, adding, “We already have five or so vendors with food trucks and trailers that will be set up to offer some food. We will have an inflatable bounce house for kids, a live D.J. for musical entertainment, and we will also have some port-a-potties that people can use. This event is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the fireworks and fellowship. Events like this helps to bring the community together, and there are hopes that next year’s event can be planned to be even better, as long as he wants to furnish the fireworks and stuff.”

Extra perks for the 2025 July 4th celebration includes: Live D.J. Music, Rocky Top Family Fun & Entertainment Inflatable Bounce House & Water Slide, T.C. Kettle Corn, Makin Grub LLC, Dixieland Deli – makers of Sandwiches the Cajun Way”, and Southern Sno Shack.

Lafayette City Mayor Tony Day added, “With the music and food planned, people are welcome to come out and enjoy the evening… People can bring their chairs, and just do the best they can to park out of other people’s way. The fireworks will be shot behind the pond around 9 p.m., so that the lights can reflect off of the water. Hope to see you all there!”
