A registered sex offender residing in Lafayette faces new charges after child pornography was found on his phone and TV during a state probation check of his residence.
According to reports filed by Macon County Detective Robert Jacoby, his office was notified on Monday, June 16, that state probation officers had gone to the Scottsville Rd. residence of 49-year-old Christopher Andrew Ray, to conduct a routine compliance and probation check.
While there, officers turned on the TV in Ray’s bedroom and discovered images of child pornography saved as a bookmark, and previous searches for it as well. Images of child pornography were also found on Ray’s phone.
Further inspection of his electronic devices revealed he had Instagram and YouTube accounts, which is also a violation of his probation.
Ray was charged with Violation of the Sex Offender Registry (2 counts) and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (2 counts).
His bond was set at $105,000.
