RBS Woman Killed in Smith County Wreck

Forty-year-old Sandi Watson, of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, was killed in a two vehicle wreck in Smith County on Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2025.
According to the preliminary crash report provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Sandi Watson was driving eastbound on Hwy. 70, in Smith County, in a 1999 Mazda B25, when she failed to maintain the lane. Her vehicle traveled into the westbound lane and struck a 2009 Mercury Milan, driven by 58-year-old Sabrina Knihtila, of Tennessee, head-on. The Mercury came to final rest at the point of impact, while the Mazda continued off the north side of the roadway, coming to final rest in the ditch.
The report states that Sabrina Knihtila was injured and Sandi Watson sustained fatal injuries. Knihtila was wearing a seatbelt and Watson wasn’t.
Funeral services for Ms. Sandi Michele (Curtis) Watson were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, Ky., with Bro. Gary Emberton officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Sandi was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, but she grew up in Red Boiling Springs, where she graduated from RBS High School and played softball for the Lady Bulldogs.
She was the daughter of Douglas Curtis of Tompkinsville, Ky., and Paula (Burks) and Scotty Hall of Red Boiling Springs, Tn.
Sandi’s obituary says that above all else, she loved her family and she cherished time spent with them, whether through everyday moments or special gatherings. Her love and loyalty were constants, that those closest to her will always remember.
