Tigerettes lose at Upperman

The Macon County Tigerettes season came to an end with a loss at Upperman Friday Feb 27th.
Macon came into the game as the #3 seed from District 8-3A and the Lady Bees were the #2 seed in District 7-3A. The Tigerettes struggled to score as they shot 7 of 33 (21%) from the field in the game. At the end of the first quarter they trailed 4-15. They were only able to add seven points in the second quarter and trailed 11-26 at the break.
Sometimes when you are outgunned your opponent has a great night on the court too. The Lady Bees managed to shoot 24 of 46 (52%) from the field and 10 of 24 (42%) from behind the 3-point arc, both high percentages. Upperman led 47-19 heading into the last eight minutes and won 66-21 ending the Tigerettes season.
Scoring for Macon was: Katie Jo Shockley 9 points, Chloe Solomon 5 points, Allie Kate Austin 5 points, and Kaylee Slayton 2 points. Tori McClanahan, Savannah Keene, and Ariana Jones all played but did not score.
Three of the four teams from District 7-3A won their region quarterfinal games. Watertown, the #1 seed in 8-3A, was the only winner in our district.
The Tigerettes end the season with a record of 14-16 and will graduate three seniors from the squad this season.
