An investigation that began in Macon County, recently led to the confiscation of 29 guns in Allen County, Kentucky, and a stolen vehicle and weapon from Macon County.

Members of the Lafayette Fire Department responded to a structure fire that leveled a home at 2969 Dry Branch Road, off Highway 10 South, on Saturday afternoon, September 20th.

Criminal Court will convene at the Macon County Justice Center on Monday, September 22, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. with Judge John Wootten presiding. According to the records of Macon County Circuit Court Clerk Rick Gann, various cases involving drugs, theft, DUI, assault, evading arrest and other charges will be heard.

On August 26, 2014 Jed and Leslie Goad, of the Oak Grove community in Red Boiling Springs, received the news that no parent wants to hear when a medical team at Vanderbilt University diagnosed their eight-month-old baby boy, Easton, with liver cancer.

A call came in around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, that the home of Mayor Willie Brown, in Red Boiling Springs, was on fire. His residence is located at 527 Bennett Hill Road.

Phil Russell, age 48, of Lafayette, was selected last week as the new 911 Director, following the departure of  Steve Jones, who was elected as the Macon County Mayor in August.
