WHAT THIS SIGNIFIES…

According to a recent issue of The Tennessean of the 100 freshman who enter four-year Tennessee colleges this fall only 45 will graduate within six years. These statistics have changed very little in recent years. Each new administration in the state’s capital tackle the problem by adding more required courses for high school students, which usually ends in more “pushouts” from secondary schools. What does this signify? Students don’t want to stay in college, some have to dropout for many problems. The politicians and the career people in the State Department of Education don’t have a clue how to resolve the problem. Last, but not least, many are urged to go to college when they need to be enrolling in vocational and technical schools operated by the state, not the independent schools, for they are to costly.

I was reading The Tennessean this week and noticed cemetery plots for sale. There were 12 of them, priced at several hundred dollars. What does this signify? It doesn’t signify that the owners have decided they want them, for we all must die. In all probability, it signifies hard times. There has never been more yard sales, old car sales, boat sales, and cans picked-up from ditch lines than in recent months. Sorry, liberal Democrats, but the stimulus package isn’t working. The money is being sent to the wrong people.
In Chicago this last week it was learned that a funeral home had dug up 300 graves, deposited the bodies in a hole nearby and were selling the plots from which the bodies were taken. This signifies GREED- The very sin that is destroying our Nation.
After Wednesday it may be a crime with up to 2 years in prison to publicly denounce homosexuality and same sex marriage as a sin. This legislation has already passed the House, and will be voted on Wednesday by the Senate. If passed, it will become a part of the Hate Crime Bill legislation.
KIDS KNOW DOGS
A nursery school teacher was delivering a car full of children home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog’s duties.
“They use him to keep crowds back,” said one youngster.
“No,” said another, “he’s just for good luck.”
A third child brought the argument to a close. “They use the dogs,” she said firmly, “to find the fire hydrant.”
“A merry heart doeth good.”- Proverbs 17:22
