My View from the Press Box – MCJH Tigers Season Opener
The MCJH Tigers win 44-0 over Winfree Bryant middle school in the 2013 home/season opener.
The Tiger’s scored on the 3rd play of the game on a Cole Carnahan 11 yard TD run. Carlisle connected with Devon Dillehay for the 2 pt conversion. The Tiger defense forced a three and out and Seth Carlisle returned the punt for a 47 yard TD. Carnahan add the 2pt conversion. Carlisle added another TD run of 41 yards and tossed it to Dillehay for the 2 pt conversion to push the lead to 24-0 at the end of the first qtr. Carlisle scored again on a 4 yard run and the Tigers led 30-0 at the half.
Carlisle scored his 4th TD in the 3rd qtr with a 15 yard run. Conversion failed and the Tigers led 36-0. Chris Oliver had a pick six late in the 3rd and Tanner Wilmore added the 2pt conversion to round out the scoring.
Carlisle was 2/4 -34 yards passing. Receiving: Dillehay 1-21yds, Brawner 1-13yds. Rushing: Swindle 5/16, Carlisle 4/78 3TD, Dillehay 3/16, Carnahan 2/20 TD, Alcorta 1/1, Stoops 1/-4. The Tiger Defense was stellar in the shut out allowing only 4 first downs a net total of 2 yards.
Coach Wilson said after the game “All Phases of the game looked good but we still have room for improvement.” The Tigers will host the Smith Co. Owls this Tuesday night before 4 straight road games. Come out the support the Tigers and “I’ll see you at the game.”
