Macon Boys & Girls Win District Golf Titles

The Macon County Boys and Girls golf teams won the District 8 A/AA title.
The matches were played at Ironwood CC in Cookeville.
The girls were paced by Senior Kaitlyn Cartwright. The Cumberland University commitment fired a 1-over 73 to earn top honors in the competition. Lauren Gammons would shoot a 96 and Savannah Knight a 98. As a team, MCHS wins by 18 strokes and advances to the Region 4 A/AA finals.
The defending A/AA State Champions began their attempt to defend their title. Austin Williams posted the low score of the day with a 4-under 68 to win low medalist. Macon would finish with two other top five individual medalists with Zach Polson’s 70 and Larken Whittemore’s 76 for the Tigers. Macon wins by 17 strokes and advances to the Region 4 A/AA Championship.
The Region 4 A/AA tournament will be at White Plains on Monday September 23rd.
