Roll Over Wreck on Saturday Morning
THP Sgt. Ashley Mercer worked a Union Camp Road one vehicle roll over wreck in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 10 2014.
The wreck resulted in the driver of a 2007 Saturn Sky being helicoptered to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville and the passenger carried by ground ambulance to Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.
Emergency crews and law officers responded to the Union Camp Road a little before 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, after a call came in reporting a red automobile rolled over on its top.
According to Sgt. Mercer, 21-year-old Brett Adams, of Lafayette, was driving east bound several miles out on the Union Camp Road in a red 2007 Saturn Sky, along with a passenger, 19-year-old Andrew Anderson.
“Adams was traveling east when he lost control of the automobile while negotiating a curve,” said Sgt. Mercer. “He ran off the south side of the road where the vehicle overturned onto its top and slid down the highway, coming to final rest in the westbound lane.”
Brett Adams was taken by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he remained on Monday in stable condition. Andrew Anderson was transported by ground ambulance to Sumner Regional where he was treated and released.
Those responding to the scene were the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriffs Office, a Constable, Macon County EMS, Macon County Rescue Squad and the Macon County Chronicle.
