Junior Tigers Defeat Gordonsville

The Macon County Junior High Tigers defeated the Gordonsville Tigers by a final score of 46-22.


It is the second win of the season for MCJHS.

With 6:58 left in the first quarter, Ethan Jenkins scored on the second play from scrimmage on a 55 yard run. Conversion failed and Macon led 6-0. Gordonsville answered with a score making the score 6-8 with 3:44 left in the 1st period. Jenkins answered back with a 58 yard TD run and a conversion and with 2:43 left in the 1st Macon led 14-8. At the 6:45 mark of the 2nd, Jenkins connected on a 71 yard pass with Curtis Oliver for a score. Conversion failed and Macon led 20-8. On the next possession Oliver would grab a pick-six, returning the ball 60 yards. Conversion failed and Macon led 26-8. Gordonsville would score with 0:29 seconds left in the half to make it 26-14. Most teams would head to the locker room, but Jenkins would score on the next play on a 57 yard run and at the half Macon led 32-14.

Macon would score with 2:37 left in the 3rd as Jenkins would run it in from 27 yards out and hit Oliver on the conversion, 40-14 Macon. Gordonsville would add another score in the 4th before Tiger Ty Lowhorn scored from 44 yards out to make the final score 46-22.

Tiger 7th grader Ethan Jenkins had a special night. He rushed 8 times for 211 yards and 4 touchdowns while throwing for 71 yards and another touchdown and making 2 two point conversions

The Junior Tigers will host East Robertson for homecoming on Thursday August 27th.
