alt

The Macon County Tigerette soccer team won at home while losing a region contest on the road.

They faced Monroe County at home and traveled to DeKalb County.

On Monday September 21st Macon County hosted Monroe County in Senior night for the Class of 2016. The Tigerettes responded with a sounding defeat by a final score of 7-1. Goals by Lyndsey Belton(2), Bailey Porter(2), Katie Cothron, and Heaven Love(2) gave the visiting team no hope. Love scored her second goal on a penalty kick as the first half expired.

This team will say goodbye to a good crop of soccer athletes. Pictured are members of the senior class with their family and they are: (L-R)Tori King, Lacia Dawes, Lyndsey Belton, Heaven Love, Savannah Hefflin, Angel Austin, and Alexus Sarmiento. We wish these ladies the best of luck in their future.

On Tuesday September 22nd Macon traveled to DeKalb County. The Lady Tigers are one of the best teams in our region but Macon played really well in the first half. Despite goals by Lora Darnell and Lyndsey Belton, DeKalb simply wore down the Tigerettes. Final score Dekalb 6 Macon 2.

The Tigerettes are scheduled to play at Jackson County on September 29th and at Livingston Academy on October 1st.
