Bulldogs Travel to Face District Rivals

The RBS Bulldogs were back in action this past week.

On Monday Mar 21 the Bulldogs travelled to play district rivals Gordonsville. Logan Hewitt pitched 3 1/3 innings and gave up 11 hits and 8 earned runs in the loss. Chase Long and Kendall Thompson combined for 2 2/3 more innings, recording 1 hit and no runs scored. Bailey Anderson, Justin Bergdorff, Dustin Bergdorff, Chase Long, and Cole Dziekiewicz all had hits while Anderson scored on Lon’g RBI. Gordonsville plated 1 run in the 2nd, 5 runs in the 3rd, and 3 in the 4th to come away with a 9-1 win over Red Boiling Springs.

On Tuesday Mar 22 Gordonsville made the return trip to Red Boiling Springs. This game was close early as the Bulldogs loaded the bases in the bottom of the 1st and failed to score. Chance Asberry went 3 for 4  with 3 RBIs while Dustin Bergdorff, Lee Pruitte, and Kendall Thompson(2) all scored runs. Dziekiewicz recorded the loss throwing 2 1/3 innings and giving up 2 earned runs on 1 hit. Asberry and Dustin Bergdorff finished the game on the mound. Gordonsville scored a total of 16 runs on 9 hits and had 3 errors while RBS totaled 4 runs on 9 hits with 4 errors in the game.

Next week the Bulldogs are scheduled to play a doubleheader at Goodpasture on the 28th at 2:30 pm. On Friday the 31st they are scheduled to travel to Van Buren for a JV and varsity game starting at 5 pm.
