Meth, Marijuana, Pipes & Brass Knuckles

By Jessie Williams

Two men and a woman were arrested on drug charges last week following a routine traffic stop on Old Highway 52.

According to the Affidavit of Complaint filed by arresting officer Austin Cliburn, he witnessed a vehicle cross over into oncoming traffic and pulled the vehicle over on December 4, 2019.

Officer Cliburn then made contact with the driver, 38-year-old Roy Gardner, and identified the two passengers as Rickie Blankenship, age 35, and Amanda Henson, age 33.

After receiving consent to search the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 2.5 grams of meth, approximately 4 grams of a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, meth pipes, rolling papers and brass knuckles.

Additional pills, believed to be narcotics, were also found during the search.

While searching the individuals, Henson allegedly did admit to putting a baggie of meth inside her person, taking it out inside the patrol car while officers were finishing their investigation, and hiding it under the seat.

A baggie with meth residue was found under the seat.

All three individuals were transported to the Macon County Jail and were charged with the following:

Amanda Henson was charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule VI drug and tampering with/fabricating evidence. Her bond is set at $17,200.

Roy Gardner was charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule VI drug, weapon prohibited and driving left of center. His bond was set at $15,200.

Rickie Michael Blankenship was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, possession of a VI drug and possession of a legend drug. His bond was set at $13,200.

All three individuals are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on January 8, 2020.
