Meth, Heroine & Fentanyl

A Lafayette man is being held on $78,000 bond for numerous drug charges following a traffic stop last Friday, September 11. 

 

According to the report written by Patrolman Josh McClard of the Lafayette Police Department, the officer ran the tag of a Ford Mustang on Mulberry Drive and was informed by dispatch that the registration was suspended.

At that time, he initiated a traffic stop on Ferguson Hill Rd. and made contact with the driver, identified as 42-year-old Kevin Jerome Goodman.

Goodman told the officer he did not have insurance when asked for his license and proof of insurance.

As Patrolman McClard began to fill out a citation, the K-9 unit arrived on the scene.

The K-9 was deployed and gave positive identification that there were drugs inside the vehicle.

A search of the car revealed a variety of drugs and paraphernalia including Methamphetamine, Heroine, Fentanyl, baggies and digital scales. 

Mr. Goodman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while in possession of meth, mfg/del/poss. of meth, manufacturing narcotics (3), driving on suspended license and financial responsibility law. 

His bond was set at $78,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on  October 28 & November 24.
