By Jessie Williams

A Lafayette man faces multiple drug charges for the fourth time after officers discovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and assorted pills inside his Clearview Lane residence.

According to a report filed by Macon County Detective Shane Gregory, he and other detectives and deputies arrived at the home of 61year-old Terry Wayne Wooten on Friday, July 1, 2022, to conduct a “knock and talk” after receiving information Mr. Wooten was selling methamphetamine again.

While speaking to Mr. Wooten, he admitted to being in possession of methamphetamine and gave written consent to search the residence.

Officers were directed by Mr. Wooten to a red cigarette pack, which contained four small, clear, plastic baggies with a crystal and white powder substance inside.

Upon further search of the residence officers found more clear, plastic bags in Mr. Wooten’s bedroom that also contained a crystal substance.

There were also several syringes found along with small baggies containing marijuana and pills.

Located in a bedroom were three sets of digital scales, rolling papers and a green plate with a powdery substance crushed up on it.

Evidence at the scene field tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl.

Approximately 98.54 grams of methamphetamine, 1.3 grams of cocaine and 7.85 grams of marijuana and assorted pills were seized by law enforcement.

Wooten was arrested and charged with manufacture of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery or possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I drug and possession of a schedule II drug (2 counts).

This is the fourth time Mr. Wooten has been arrested for selling narcotics.

His bond was set at $80,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on July 20, 2022.

Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons would like to thank all of the officers involved, and urges anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity to contact his office. Callers may remain anonymous.
