MCHS Travels to Smith County

The Macon County Tigers and Tigerettes travelled to Smith County for the only game of the week. The home opener against Clay County was rescheduled.

In the Tigerettes game, Macon came out sluggish and was only able to put up five points in the quarter. They did fight back and trailed 18-23 at the break.

The Tigerettes shot 25% (12 of 48) from the field and 5% (1 of 18) from three point range in the game. Smith County was able to make 50% of their baskets from the field in the game. A 23 point fourth quarter would propel the Lady Owls to a 52-38 win.

Scoring for the Tigerettes was: Allie Thompson 16, Laityn Kirby 7, Karly Ramsey 6, Cadence Carter 4, Alexis Bandy 3, and Natalie Green 2. Katie Shockley and Kaydence Walrond both played but did not score.

Unfortunately the Tigers didn’t fare much better.

After only posting four points in the first quarter, Smith County would take a 35-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Owls didn’t take the second half off either. Much like the Lady Owls, Smith County shot 13 of 31 behind the arc for the game enroute to a 70-47 victory over the Tigers.

Scoring for Macon was: Brady Driver 11, Dalton Hudson 16, Cason Gregory 14, John Krantz 2, Braylon Flowers 2, and Logan Bandy 2.

This week Macon is scheduled to travel to Westmoreland on Dec 6th and host Cumberland County on Dec 8th. The first games each night are scheduled for a 6 pm tip-off
