By Jessie Williams

A 36-year-old Goodlettsville man was arrested by Macon County law enforcement last week after admitting to selling narcotics – dealing mainly with crack cocaine.

According to a report filed by Deputy Lopata, the officer was on patrol on April 17, 2025 when he observed a vehicle crossing the yellow center line while traveling north on Scottsville Rd.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop, and the driver of the Hyundai Sonata was identified as Sidney Hughes.

Mr. Hughes, who did not have his driver’s license on him, began acting nervous when asked for his registration.

The officer asked Hughes to step out of the vehicle at that time and requested consent to search it.

Inside the Sonata, officers discovered a glass pipe with white residue on it and a napkin containing a white, powdery substance. Mr. Hughes confirmed to officers the substance was crack cocaine.

In the trunk, multiple baggies were discovered along with a scale containing a white residue, multiple glass pipes containing burn marks and residue, a container holding a green, leafy substance confirmed by Hughes to be marijuana, and a metal spoon-like object with a white residue on it.

During questioning, Mr. Hughes advised law enforcement that he sold narcotics – mainly crack cocaine.

He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on May 21, 2025.
