By Jessie Williams

Thirty bags of marijuana were seized during a traffic stop in Macon County on October 30, 2025.

According to a report filed by Deputy Jacob Lopata, another officer made a traffic stop on a gold Toyota Camry that had a non-functioning registration lights on Tuck Road.

The driver was identified as 28-year-old Bradley Tidwell of Westmoreland, and the passenger was identified as 29-year-old Devin McCall of Lafayette.

While speaking to the men, the officer noticed a clear bag tied in a knot beneath Tidwell’s feet, and they were both asked to step out of the vehicle at that time.

Both men were frisked and Tidwell gave permission for officers to search his pockets. A silver cylinder containing what appeared to be methamphetamine was found.

During the frisk of Mr. McCall, the officer felt an object fall from his crotch area down to his pant leg. Upon further investigation, the item appeared to be a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.

A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 30 bags filled with a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a digital scale, and multiple baggies containing a crystal-like residue.

The total weight of the green, leafy substance was approximately 140.84 grams.

Both men were placed in separate patrol cars, when Mr. McCall was found to be concealing something in his hand. Upon retrieving the item, it appeared to be a baggie containing a small amount of a crystal-like substance.

McCall was charged with tampering with evidence, manufacturing narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth. His bond was set at $57,000.

Tidwell was charged with possession of meth, manufacturing narcotics, failure to carry registration and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $50,000.

Both men are set to appear in general sessions court on November 19, 2025.
