Tigerettes secure four wins on diamond


The Macon County High Softball team had a good week on the diamond. They managed to pick up four wins.

On Monday Mar 9 they hosted Livingston Academy. Kayli Aulick threw all seven innings in the circle and she gave up 10 hits and five earned runs but got the victory by a final score of 8-5.

The middle of the line-up shouldered the load as Jazzlyn Centers was 3 for 3 with five RBIs, Sierra Troutt was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs, and Ryleigh Coley was 2 for 4. Katie Jo Shockley, Maysi Patterson, and Emma Farley also collected hits.

Macon then played a four game stretch in a tournament at Gordonsville. First up on Mar 13 was Warren Co KY. The Tigerettes were able to score four in the 1st and three in the 2nd on their way to an 8-0 win in four innings.

Aulick got the victory as she threw all four innings and allowed five hits and no earned runs. Shockley was 3 for 3 and Centers was 3 for 3 with seven RBIs.

Then on the 13th the Tigerettes faced Morristown-Hablin. Despite striking first in the bottom of the opening inning, Macon would surrender multiple runs in the last three innings to drop the game to the Lady Trojans by a final of 2-8.

Patterson was the pitcher of record and threw five innings allowing 10 hits and six earned runs. Troutt and Farley had multiple hits while Shockley, Aulick, and Centers had one hit each.

On Saturday Mar 14 the Tigerettes faced Livingston Academy again. It only took four innings for Macon to bang this one out and get a 10-0 victory.

Kaylen Moore threw three and two-thirds innings and allowed only one hit in the victory. Troutt was for 3 with three RBIs and Patterson was 3 of 3 with two RBIs. Centers, Coley, Farley, Moore, and Camryn McConnell also recorded hits.

The final game on Saturday Mar 14 was against the Lady Bees from Upperman. With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning the Tigerettes would plate three wins to claim the victory 4-1.

Aulick threw five innings and scattered eight hits and was charged with one earned run. Shockley, Coley and McConnell recorded multiple hits while Patterson, Moore and Farley had one each.

This week the Tigerettes are scheduled to travel to face Gordonsville on Mar 17, travel to Trousdale County on Mar 18, and host Clay County on Mar 20.
