What made L.E.’s life extraordinary was not only its length, but its warmth and richness. A gifted cook and baker, she created a home where everyone felt welcome-family, neighbors, or friends passing through. Her gardens were vibrant, her houseplants flourished, and her sewing talents produced masterpieces treasured by many.
A woman of deep Christian faith, L.E. lived her beliefs quietly but powerfully. She loved gospel hymns, Scripture, and the comfort of her church community. Her life reflected fortitude, strength, and an unwavering work ethic-qualities that guided her for more than a century.
She adored her family, spending countless vacations with her grandchildren and making memories that will live on for generations. In retirement, she and Oliver spent wonderful years at their farm in Tennessee and later in Florida, where they made friends easily during their travels. Her wit was sharp, her laughter easy, and her ability to brighten a room unmatched.
