Ronald L Robinson Sr
Ronald Lou Robinson, Sr. was born on August 23, 1935, in Wetzel, West Virginia,
to the late Fred W. Robinson and Hattie R. Heflin Loftis. He passed away at his home on June 1, 2026, having lived a long and remarkable life of ninety years, nine months, and nine days.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in March 1953 and serving for six years. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident throughout his life. For sixty years, he owned and operated Ron and Son Tree Service, earning the respect and admiration of countless customers and friends. Known affectionately as “The Tree Doctor,” Ron had a special gift for caring for trees and a passion for his work that never faded. Even after retiring in 2017, he continued climbing trees well into his eighties, a testament to his strength, determination, and love for what he did.
When he wasn’t working, Ron enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time fishing, tending his garden, and trading with friends. He found joy in being outdoors and took pride in the things he built and cared for. One of his most faithful companions was his beloved dog, Pretty Girl, who held a special place in his heart.
Ron will be remembered as a hardworking man, a proud veteran, a devoted friend, and someone who never met a challenge he was unwilling to tackle. His life was marked by perseverance, kindness, and a deep appreciation for family, friends, and the world around him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, strength, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his Wife, Maryann Schneider Robinson; Sons, Infant Ronald L. Robinson II, Kevin Billings, and Joe Hankins; Parents, Fred W. Robinson and Hattie R. Heflin Loftis; and Twin Brother, Robert L. Robinson.
Ronald Lou Robinson, Sr. is survived by; Children, Ronald L. Robinson III and wife, Billie Jo, Dawn Billings and fiancé, Jesse Ramsey, Karl Billings and fiancé, Brittney, John Blessing, Donna Ausmus, Robert Billings, Jr. and wife, Lori, Timothy
Billings, Karen Billings, Betty Shuman, Brad Jacobs, and Andrea Billings. Twenty grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 5, 2026, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with family speaking. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors,
