Fred Waggoner, Jr

Fred Gary Waggoner, Jr., age 68, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his residence.

He was born July 2, 1958, in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late Fred Gary Waggoner Sr. and Celia F. Walton Waggoner. He was a graduate of Hendersonville High School where he enjoyed a state championship in Cross country and many other records in Track and earned the name “legs Waggoner.”

He loved to read and write poetry, and travel to the Smokies and Florida beaches.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen; and niece, Amy. Gary is survived by his brothers, William Michael Waggoner of Lafayette, and Frank Edward Waggoner (Cindy) of Huntsville, Alabama. Two nephews, one niece, three great-nephews, and two great-nieces also survive.

Gary will be remembered for his great kindness and love that he brought to the world and will be forever in the hearts of those who loved him. The family has chosen cremation and no formal services are planned at this time.
