The Hendersonville Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old male from Westmoreland TN for the murder of Trinity Bostic. The suspect is currently being held in Sumner County Detention and is charged with first-degree murder. The investigation of this incident continues.
What remains for this community now is remembering the life of a Macon County teen who ended too soon.
Trinity Lei Bostic was preparing for “Senior” life at Macon County High School this coming fall, also keeping herself busy bringing smiles to shoppers at the Lafayette Wal-Mart.
I remember in my high school days, a speaker making a statement that painfully keeps repeating itself to be true every year… The man said, everybody look around at the folks sitting in this auditorium with you right now, because I can tell you now, that not everybody you see sitting here right now will make it to graduate with you.
The news of Trinity’s death traveled back to Macon Countians much faster than the information of her having been declared a missing person had gone out, and the power of that message was felt in every call or message shared the following days telling the heartbreaking news of what had happened.
Gena Nash’s daughter is a classmate of Trinity Bostic and shared that her family was eating when hearing the news.
“I watched the color drain out of my Trinity’s face when she received a message about her passing… They were in the same grade, the same age, and shared the same first name… Prayers to her and her classmates,” Ms. Nash said.
Looking up Trinity’s Facebook page, I noticed that my niece, NaLani Spangler, is one of her Facebook friends. I went downstairs and entered her room and I saw her crying, having just been told the bad news. She shared their story, “When I moved here from Kentucky, I did not know anybody at school and I did not have any friends and I was feeling really alone, and she was the first person to come up and talk to me… She taught me that you can choose to make light out of every dark situation… We loved to make TikTok videos and she would always sit with me at lunch and break so that I would never sit alone… Trin, you deserved so much better than what you got. Everyone was looking forward to seeing your bright future and all of your dreams come to life, and that is what hurts most of all, that those dreams end here, but her memory will never die.”
Trinity’s senior class started a GoFundMe for her family, to help with funeral costs. https://gofund.me/ddd3aecc
