George Douglas Tucker, age 95 of Lafayette, TN, passed away Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026 at Macon Community Hospital.

Funeral Services
for George Douglas Tucker will be conducted Saturday morning, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 am from First Baptist Church of Lafayette with Pastor Ron Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. James Porter, Bob Taylor, & Macon-Trousdale Farmers Co-Op Employees served as honorary pallbearers. Jeff Burrow, Jason Goad, Terry Tucker, Tim Gann, Chris Phillips, Jim Bellar served as active pallbearers.

George Douglas Tucker was born April 13,
1931 in Macon County, TN, a son born to the late George Dewey & Roxie Bandy Tucker and departed this life June 16, 2026 at the age of 95 years, 2 months, and 3 days. George married the love of his life, Jeanette Hughes Tucker, on December 29, 1949. Together they shared more than 78 wonderful years of marriage.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Son, Mark Edwin Tucker, Sister, Paula Ann Bandy Burrow.

George was self-employed with Highland Appliance in Lafayette for many years. He was a devoted member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, where he faithfully served his church community.

Survivors besides his wife, Jeanette include: Daughter, Sharon Flannagin & husband, Micky all of Lafayette, Son, George Hughes Tucker & wife, Jacqueline of Portland, Niece, Lori Tucker Cameron of Lebanon.
