James C. Doss, age 83

James C. Doss, better known as “J.C.”, age 83, of Lafayette, and former of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 24 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN.

James C. Doss, better known as “J.C.”, age 83, of Lafayette, and former of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 24 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 28th, at 11 a.m., from chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Guthrie Thompson officiating. Hollis Willis and Richard Willis served as Honorary Pallbearers.  David Doss, John Bibby, Mickey Bosley, Gary Doss, Roger Willis, and Edward Willis served as active pallbearers.  Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery.
He was born on October 30, 1926 in Macon County, TN, to his parents; the late Radford and Brucie Driver Doss.
He married his first wife, Vester Lee Dallas Doss, sharing their lives together in Indianapolis; she preceded him in death in 1999.  J.C. later married Julia “Judy” Hunter Doss on December 1, 2003, sharing almost six years together, Judy survives.  Besides his first wife and parents; a sister, Novis Trevell Doss, also preceded him in death.
J.C. was raised in Macon County, but spent his adult life in Indianapolis were he called home, he worked for Best Food in Indianapolis for thirty-seven years as a machine operator, before retiring in the 90’s. He had a great ear for music and loved playing instruments, starting with a harmonica, then banjo, guitar, fiddle, and dobro.  J.C. and Judy still have a home in Indianapolis, but had moved back to Lafayette a few years ago.  J.C. loved his wife and family, and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
J.C. is survived by; wife, Judy Hunter Doss, niece, Virginia Lancaster, nephew,
Gary and wife Angela Doss, all of Lafayette, TN, step-children, Daniel and wife Sorosso Coram of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Richard Coram of Indianapolis, David and wife Kathy Coram of Wisconsin, Marcia and husband Dave Freeman of Arlington, TX, Cheryl and husband Mickey Bosley of Red Boiling Springs, TN,
Tina and husband Claude Bragg of St. Augustine, FL, seven grandchildren
Eleven great-grandchildren, also survives.
