Funeral services for George Wilson Stevens were conducted Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Doug Curtis and Elder Guthrie Thompson officiating. Doug Mathews, Jackie Stevens, Mike Jones, Don Curtis Stevens, David Jones, and Tommy Toney served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.

He was born in Macon County, Tennessee on November 23, 1938 to the late Paul and Patty Pearl White Stevens. Besides his parents; son, William Dale Stevens, brother, Donald Stevens, and sister, Betty Jones also preceded him in death.
George worked for Cresent Manufacturing in Gallatin for seventeen years. He enjoyed going out on weekends camping and fishing with his family. George liked to sit back and watch wrestling on television. He was a man who did not shy from work; he loved his family and enjoyed providing for them and being with them.
George was a member of the Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
George is survived by; wife, Reba Ray Stevens of Lafayette, TN, daughters,
Freida Polson of Lafayette, TN, Mickie and husband Bobby Sullivan of the Green Grove Community in Macon County, and Amy and husband Georgie Ridenour of Lafayette, TN, daughter-in-law, Kristy Stevens of Lebanon, TN, sister, Linda and husband Wilkie Toney of Lafayette, TN, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; also survive.
