A Memorial service for Loraine Shadden was conducted Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Chet Grant officiating.

She was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on September 2, 1933 to the late David Ferrell and Dessie Eleanor Johnson Lancaster. Loraine was married to the love of her life, Bill Ray Shadden in 1950, sharing thirty-three years together and raising four children, Bill preceded her in death. Besides her husband and parents; grandson, Jeremy Grant, sister, Joyce Collins, and Brother, R.D. Lancaster, also preceded her in death.
Loraine was a farmer’s daughter, working in the fields along side her family as she grew up, later becoming a beautician and working for ten years. She enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was working in her yard, the flower gardens, or just taking long walks. Quilting and crocheting were crafts she liked to do, when she couldn’t be outside. Loraine was a dancer; she loved to go dancing and do the jitter bug, when ever she could. She was a very caring and nurturing mother; her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life. Loraine cherished her church and God; she was a member of the Pentecostal-First Assembly of God. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.
She is survived by; daughter, Laura June and husband Wes Redden of Lafayette, TN, sons, Kenneth Ray and wife Susan Shadden of Tulsa, OK, Terry Lee and wife Tina Shadden of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Ferrell and wife Suzie Shadden of Jamestown, TN, sisters, Margaret and husband Hershel West of Lafayette, TN, and Loretta Collins of Spokane, WA, brother, Russell and wife Dennie Lancaster of Bakersfield, CA, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews: also survive.
