She was born in Wilson County, Tennessee on November 9, 1978 to her parents, L.C. and Rita Karene Knight Slayton.
Candie, better known as “Bushy” had one son and one daughter. Her daughter, Tazland Lasae Slayton, grandparents, L.T. and Betty Slayton and Elmer and Annie Knight, all preceded her in death.
Bushy was disabled, but was full of life and enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She enjoyed helping in the concession stand for the Macon County Saddle Club when she was able. Bushy was told at one time that she wasn’t able to care for her son. But being the caring mother that she was; she proved them wrong. Her son gave her the will to carry on.
Bushy was saved in 2004 and was of the Baptist Belief. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.
She is survived by; son, Denton Slayton, father, L.C. Slayton, mother, Rita Slayton all of the Eulia Community in Macon County, TN, brothers, Dwight (Leslie) Gass and “Fudd” L.C. (Barb) Slayton all of Lafayette, TN, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, that she dearly loved also survives.
