Funeral services for Mary Carr were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Rob Whittaker officiating and her Uncle, Ivon Davis spoke about Mary’s life and the love her family had for her.

Brian Cross, Douglas Davis, Dwight Davis, Stacy Davis, Bruce Davis, Gary Pedigo, Kenny Davis, and Kevin Bean served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery where she will rest by her grandmother and grandfather, Deuel and Dola Davis, who raised and cared for her during her youth. She was born on September 13, 1971 in Macon County, Tennessee, one of five siblings of the late Wayne Davis. She was a high school graduate and attended the vocational school for two years completing studies as a Medical Assistant and worked in the medical field for 14 years. Before becoming disabled, she worked at Smuckers in Scottsville. As her one son and only child was disabled, she had a love for and was faithfully involved in the Special Olympics Program for handicapped children helping in every way that she could. She was a member of the Leonard Church of Christ. She is survived by her son, Ty Diddock of Lafayette, TN, brother, David (Shannon) Davis, sisters, Martenna Cook, Theresa Davis, all of Indianapolis, IN and Heather McDonner of Lafayette, TN.
