Carver, better known as “Steve”, age 84, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 with his daughter and family by his side. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Brad Carver officiating.

Will Replogle, Ryan Replogle, Charles Jones, Miles Jones, and Glenn Patterson served as Honorary Pallbearers. Anthony Carver, Jerry Carver, Mike Carver, Dr. Mike Dillard, Jerry Gann and Kevin Gregory served as Active Pallbearers.  Interment was in Anderson & Son Memorial Park. A native of Macon County, Tennessee, he was born on October 15, 1926, one of nine siblings born to the late Carson Raymond and Loler Vasney “Tuck” Carver. He was married on March 6, 1947 to the former Hilda Claiborne, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2007. In addition to his wife of 60 years and parents, he was preceded in death by all three of his brothers, Presley Benton Carver, Ottis Raymond Carver, and Aaron B. Carver. He served his Country in the Navy toward the end of World War II. He was retired from Kraft Foods in Decatur, Georgia where he worked several years as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of the Union Camp Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by, daughter, Linda (Dr. Warren) Moorhead of LaFayette, GA, grandson, Timothy W. (Kimberly) Moorhead of Knoxville, TN, 3 great-grandchildren, Georgia, Claire, and Noelle Moorhead, sisters, A. V. Wilmore of Greenbriar, TN, Verdie Higgins of Westfield, IN, Hazel Goud of Franklin, IN, Louise Gregory of Lafayette, TN, Dorothy Adamson of Indianapolis, IN, special friend, Sue Givens of Gallatin, TN and several nieces and nephews.
