Burial followed in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens. Born Jerry Wayne Donoho in the Defeated Creek Community on April 6, 1943, he was one of two sons of the late Worthy Allen Donoho who died at the age of 71 on January 18, 1989 and Hazel Christine Anderson Donoho who died at the age of 87 on January 13, 2011. Mr. Donoho was first married on April 17, 1964 to the former Jean Scruggs of Hartsville who is the mother of his three children. Jerry was saved by the grace of God as a 13-year-old boy and was baptized into the full fellowship of the Cornwells Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was called to preach God’s word in April of 1964 and at the time of his death was a faithful member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville. He began his career as a Tennessee State Trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol on February 1, 1969 and retired on December 30, 2003. He dearly loved the profession of law enforcement and worked hard to provide for his family and to serve the citizens of Sumner County where he was stationed at the time of his retirement. During his career he also worked for Ferguson Trucking Co. and after retirement worked part-time for the Magnolia Corporation. Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Smith County High School. Surviving in addition to the mother of his children are his three loving children, Tennessee Highway Patrolman Tracy Donoho and wife Tonya of Westmoreland, Shannon Renea Patterson and husband Chris of Lafayette, Shane Donoho and wife Shae of Portland; brother, Garry Donoho of LaVergne; his six grandchildren who adored him, Ashley Hansen and husband Paul of Portland, Amy Patterson of Lafayette, Bailey and Macy Donoho of Portland, Peyton and Landon Donoho of Westmoreland. Jerry was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him.
