Dyer, age 72, of the Green Grove Community in Macon County, passed away on Tuesday night, April 5th, at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder G. W. Knight officiating.

Alan Hartley, Doug Voiles, Earl Scruggs, Tony Sullivan, Chris Sullivan, Jamie Scruggs, Earl Scruggs, Jr. and Jesse Voiles served as Pallbearers. Internment followed in the Drury Cemetery. Flossie was born on December 3, 1938 in Macon County, Tennessee to Walter Woodrow and Charlie Emma Sloan Sullivan. She was one of five children born to this union. She was married to Bobby Gene Dyer on October 8, 1955, sharing forty-nine years together. Bobby preceded her in death. Flossie worked in the shirt factory for many years before retiring in the 1990’s. She enjoyed reading a good book and bird watching. Flossie liked the outdoors and could spend the day gardening or working in her flowers. She had several cats, and loved animals in general. She was a loving and caring mother, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Flossie was of the Missionary Baptist Belief. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Flossie is survived by; daughters, Sherry (Alan) Hartley of Lafayette, and Valeria Lynn (Doug) Voiles of Jamestown, son, Bobby Gene Dyer, Jr. of Lafayette, grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan) Thomas, Samantha Hartley, Elizabeth Hartley all of Lafayette, and Jesse Voiles, Conner Voiles, Jennah (Brian) Pennycuff of Jamestown, great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Jones and Emma Jones of Lafayette, and Peyton Pennycuff, sisters, Selma Ray of Lafayette, Laura “Lollie” (Earl) Scruggs of the Green Grove Community also survive.
