Lady Bulldogs Finish 3rd in District
The Lady Bulldogs were in no mood to let the opening game loss to Trousdale County in the 8A District Tournament slow them down. They fought back with 2 big wins as the tournament moved to Friendship Christian.
The Lady Bulldogs were facing a “lose or go home” match on Tuesday night. They battled Watertown into submission with a 8-2 victory. RBS scored in the very first inning as Sherena Swoner reached on an error. After Ashley Bellamy hit a fielder’s choice, Taylor Coffelt singled to center, scoring Swoner.
The Lady Bulldogs kept the scoring going in the 3rd inning. Katie Hix singled to lead off. Swoner bunted for a base hit and Bellamy hit a sacrifice fly scoring Hix. Coffelt followed with a single scoring Swoner.
With the Lady Bulldogs up 3-0, the fifth inning was some more scoring. Katie Hix singled and Swoner had a bunt single. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kesha Davis bunted scoring Swoner and Katie Greanead singled in Bellamy giving RBS a 5-0 lead.
The Lady Bulldogs would pad their lead in the sixth inning. Samantha Snow walked followed by a bunt single by Swoner. Bellamy doubled to right center scoring both Swoner and Snow making the final score 8-2 in favor of Red Boiling Springs.
The Lady Bulldogs now must return to Friendship Christian on Wednesday night to face the same Trousdale County team they lost to just a few days ago.
The Lady Bulldogs were in no mood to go home as they pounded out a 7-3 victory over the Lady Yellow Jackets. RBS would score early and often but it took a bases loaded, base clearing, 3 runs in the fifth inning to put this game away.
The Lady Bulldogs returned to Lebanon to take on Gordonsville on Thursday night and the Lady Tigerettes would be in no mood to let this game get away. They handed RBS a season ending loss by a score of 15-0. This time it would be the Lady Bulldogs who would be returning home by finishing 3rd in the District 8A Tournament.
Everyone should be very proud of these kids as they battled hard all year.
