Geraldine “Gerrie” Evans
Lassiter, of Lafayette, was born on Sunday, January 17, 1943 in Clay County,
Tennessee, one of eight siblings born to the late Grover Haskell and Bertha Lee
McCarter Evans. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Sumner
Regional Medical Center at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Funeral services for
Geraldine Lassiter were conducted on Friday, July 08, 2011 from the chapel of
Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother Jerry Wix officiating.
Pallbearers were Jerry Atkins, Leonard Proctor, Steve Lassiter, Danny Ray Guy,
Bryan Evans, Kenny Wilder, Jake Shoulders, and Casey Lassiter. Interment
followed in the Anderson and Son Memorial Park. On December 31, 1970, Gerrie
married Gene Douglas Lassiter, who preceded her in death on November 8th, 2001.
She had previously worked at Gibson Guitar and was of the Baptist belief. In
addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son,
Donnie Proctor, two brothers, Mitchell and Ezra Evans and a sister, Cathy
Eddins. She is survived by devoted companion, Bobby Pardue of Lafayette, sons
and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Barbara Proctor of Hermitage, Stephen
Lassiter of Lafayette, Cayce and Billie Lassiter of Smyrna, Kenneth Lassiter of
Antioch, Daughter, Tammy Proctor of Lafayette, brothers and sisters-in-law,
Glenn and Barbara Evans, Carlos Ray and Mary Evans, Roy and Christina Evans,
all of Red Boiling Springs, half-sister, Laurine Bilbrey of Nashville, 14
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends
who loved her and will miss her.
