Wilma Jean Massie Henson, 61

Wilma Jean Massie Henson was born in Marshall County, on February 5, 1951to the late Clarence William Massie and Bertie Christine Bass Massie. She was one of ten siblings born to this union. As a young lady she was married to Ward Henson on June 23, 1966. They shared 46 years together and raised two children. Besides her parents; sister, Frances Baldwin, and brothers, George Massie and William Massie also preceded her in death. Wilma life revolved around her family. She loved cooking for them and playing with the grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed being outdoors and did a lot of camping during the summer. She liked to spend vacation time at the Smoky Mountains. Wilma loved attending the Full Gospel House of Prayer. On Saturday, October 20, 2012 Wilma left this world for a better place. Wilma’s family and many friends will greatly miss her.    
Funeral services for Wilma Henson were conducted Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1 PM from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Carson and Brother Tony Whittemore officiating. Malaki Loggins, Austin Loggins, Carson Davis, Cameron Davis, Cabb Davis, Xavier Henson, and Anthony Henson served as Honorary Pallbearers. Travis Baldwin, Jimmy Baldwin, Micheal Likens, Donnie Likens, Vince Blackledge, Terry Day, Danny Hauskins, and Billy Bandy served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Lafayette City Cemetery. Wilma is survived by, Husband, Ward Henson, Daughter, Tonya (Kenneth) Davis all of Lafayette, Son, Jr. Henson and wife Kristy Haven of Nashville, TN, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, Sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Day, Judy (David) Sawyer, Shirley Matheny, and Lucille Day, Brothers, Justin (Debbie) Massie, Charles (Dorothy) Massie, Niece and considered a daughter, Christina Sawyer, Very Special Friends, Judy Whittemore and Betty Bentley, also survive.
