Shoulders named MCHS Coach

Kyle Shoulders has accepted the position of MCHS football coach at Macon County High School.

 

He will replace Nathan Wilson, who resigned two weeks ago, following five seasons at the helm of the program.

Shoulders is a 2002 graduate of Macon County High. After college he was an assistant coach under Daniel Cook at MCHS for two seasons before being named the head coach of the RBS Bulldogs.

In his seven seasons with the Bulldogs he compiled a 29-25 record and led the team to their first playoff appearance in 2014 and first six win season. He has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach and special teams coordinator at Oakland High School (OHS) in Murfreesboro.

“I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work with a program that means a lot to me. I can’t thank Director of Schools Tony Boles, the Macon County Board of Education, MCHS Principal BJ West, MCHS AD Beverly Shoulders and many members of the community for their overwhelming support,” commented Shoulders.

“The Macon County community means everything to me and has helped mould me into the person I am today. This was the only place that had a chance to pry me away from Oakland and I felt like it was the right time to make this move. I can never thank OHS HC Kevin Creasy, OHS Brad Cowan, the entire administration at OHS, and all the Patriot family enough for making me feel at home and taking me under their wing in preparation for this opportunity.”

Macon County Director of Schools, Tony Boles, said, “I look for Kyle to bring stability to the MCHS football program. With his experience he was a great choice to come back to lead his alma mater.” Boles also commented that he was the only applicant for the job that had any head coaching experience.

The Macon County High School Tigers are approximately eleven weeks away from opening the 2018 fall season.
