Macon Junior High and Elementary Cross-Country qualifies for state


Athletes from Macon County qualified for the state meet at the Mid-State Region Qualifier this past week.

The Macon Junior High team qualified as a team with a 2nd place finish. They had times of: Caden Presley (3rd, 12:07), Brayden Leftrick (5, 12:29), Landon Presley (25, 13:04), Ace Meador (35, 13:23), Dakota Hackert (37, 13:23), Gage Willis (41, 13:33), and Jacob Eakles (49, 13:53). In the boys JV race the times were: Landon Brawner (3, 13:49), Troy Wix (7, 14:10), Easton Sadler (12, 14:36), Brantley Trent (28, 16:19), Ryan Alvis (42, 17:50), and Andrew Blackwood (46, 18:25).

The Junior High girls had the following times: Addison Whittemore (43, 16:13), Peyton Benge (52, 16:48), Chloe Osborne (71, 18:44), Sydney Green (72, 18:45), Haeley Gibbs (78, 19:45) and Kyra Cothron (84, 23:12). Mollie Rearick (26:00) and Abby Hire (27:41) ran in the JV race. Whittemore and Benge will advance as individuals.

The Elementary girls had a good day. They all advanced with times of: Brayley Law (1st place, 6:22), Georgia Hackert (13, 7:18), Bria Cothron (14, 7:22), Kaybree Meador (17, 7:32), Kaylee Kirby (23, 7:59), Sophia Ricketts (33, 8:26), Haven Doss (34, 8:29), Mia Groesbeck (40, 9:13), and Jordyn Hix (52, 11:06).

All of the Macon Elementary boys also advanced. They had times of: Bentley Halcomb (2, 6:18), Conner Newberry (7, 6:34), James Dickens (22, 7:05), Luke Tuck (26, 7:14), Kelton Jetton (32, 7:36), and Corbin Sallee (49, 8:50).
