MCHS XC Qualifies for State Meet


The TSSAA Region 4-A/AA qualifier was held in Macon County on Wednesday Oct 26th for only the second time in program history. The only other time this qualifier for the state finals was at MCHS was back in 2003.

Twenty-four teams from the region were represented. The Macon County Boys finished in 3rd place as a team, meaning that they will all advance as individuals as well. Times for the boys race were: Isaac Kirby (winner and Region 4-A/AA Champion) 1st- 16:32, Matthew Evans 9th- 17:49, Evan Groesbeck 20th-18:56, John Carter Wilson 49th-20:26, Collin Morgan 61st-20:56, Parker Whittemore 63rd-21:00. Jayden Moore 105-24:12, Zach Presley 24:41, and Angelo Lazarou 25:29.

Two runners for Macon County also qualified in the girls race. The girls times were: Laykin Ellis 8th-20:59, Aubrie Ward 18th-22:04, Violet Hackert 44th-24:11, and Taylor Ward 81-30:39. Ellis and Aubrie Ward will also advance as individuals to the state meet.

Red Boiling Springs also had the following runners in the boys event: Jadon Halliburton 96-23:18, Jaden White 111-25:01, and Kole Grace 112-25:04.

The state cross country meet will be held November 3rd at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville.
