Tigerette softball gets two wins


The Macon County Tigerette Softball team picked up two wins this week in the three games they had on the schedule.

The Tigerettes travelled to Watertown for a district contest on Tuesday Apr 7. Trailing by one run in the bottom of the seventh the Lady Purple Tigers came from behind to get the win 7-6. They scored the game winner with two outs in the last inning.

Kaylen Moore threw six and two-thirds innings in the circle and allowed 11 hits and five earned runs. Camyrn McConnell was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Moore, Sierra Troutt, and Anniston Tirjan were all 2 for 4 at the plate in the game.

On Wednesday Apr 8 the Tigerettes hosted White House. Scoring two runs in the bottom of the second and third and three in the bottom of the fourth followed by four in the bottom of the fifth would be more than enough. Macon wins by a final score of 11-3 against the Lady Blue Devils.

Katie Jo Shockley was 3 of 4 at the plate with two RBIs. Ryleigh Coley, Maci Patterson, Troutt, and Tirjan all had multiple hits with Troutt and Patterson collecting two RBIs each. Kayli Aulick threw all seven innings in the circle and allowed nine hits and three earned runs for the win.

On Apr 9 Macon hosted Central Magnet for another district contest. Five big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning would seal the deal for the Tigerettes. They win again by a final of 10-3.

Moore threw her second game of the week and hurled all seven innings allowing nine hits and three earned runs with eight strike-outs. Coley was 3 for 4 with two RBIs; Troutt was 2 for 4 scoring three runs while Aulick, Tirjan, and Jazzlyn Centers also collected hits in the game.

This week the Tigerettes are scheduled to travel to Livingston Academy on Monday Apr 13 and then host Trousdale County on Wednesday Apr 15.
