Rebecca Johnson
Rebecca Joyce Johnson, better known as Becky, passed from this life onto her Heavenly Home on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the age of seventy-eight years, three months, and thirty days.
She was born on September 27, 1947, to the late James Earl and Alma Smith Brawner, and was one of eight children. Becky was a proud graduate of Macon County High School. She had that sweet peace of salvation in her soul and as long as her health permitted, was a devoted member of Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Becky was first married to Tommy Morgan until his passing on December 10, 1979. In the years that followed, she was blessed to find love again and on December 31, 1993, Becky married Mike “Killer” Johnson. They were blessed with eighteen wonderful years together before his passing in 2011.
Along with her dear parents and husbands, Becky was also preceded in death by Sisters, Lucy Franklin, Ruby Harris and husband, Carlos, Joy Hooberry and husband, Doak, and Betty Guinn and husband, J.R.; Brother, James Mack Brawner; Brothers-in-law, Ralph Dawes, Hollis Bradley, and Jerry Morgan; Father and Mother-in-Law, James and Mary Dee Morgan, and Father-in-law, Paul Johnson.
Becky worked for the City of Lafayette as a custodian for many years, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and her gentle spirit. Throughout her life, Becky loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a proud member of the Lions Club and enjoyed going out to eat, sharing laughter, and making memories with those she cared about.
She was truly a sweetheart to everyone who knew her. Becky’s life was one marked by love, quiet strength, and a heart for others. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Mrs. Becky Johnson is survived by, Sisters, Audrey Dawes, and Billie Bradley; Sisters-in-law, Dena Brawner and Sharon Morgan; Brothers-in-law, Steve Morgan and wife, Wanda, and Barry Johnson and wife Theresa; and Mother-in-law, Norma Jean Johnson. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Rebecca Johnson were conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jeff Blackwell officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were, Keith Bradley, Byron Bradley, Jeffery Bradley, Alex Dawes, Timothy Dawes, Joshua Brawner, and Zachary Brawner.
